Power of the Subconscious Mind

Power of the Subconscious Mind

“The Power of the Subconscious Mind” is a book by Joseph Murphy which I found very interesting and worth reading. The author explains the subconscious mind as one which is always active regardless of the situation and the activities one is involved in and it is the one which controls the whole body hence a need to maintain the mind in an expecting condition of good things based on love and justice. He argues that the subconscious mind provides answers to the many questions that may keep on repeating themselves in one’s mind and has the ability to solve critical problems.
What does the text have to do with you, personally, and with your life (past, present or future)?

I found the text important and educative for personal growth and self-enhancement as I discovered that even some sicknesses can heal as a result of the positive thoughts that run through the subconscious mind. For example, when sick and the body is relaxed, a notion of waking up from the sickbed and walking healthily can slowly heal some diseases.  Therefore, it is very vital to be watchful of the thoughts and ideas that run through the mind since everything that is apprehended in the subconscious mind has a direct effect in the whole body in terms of the situations and emotions. This guides me to avoid negative ideas and thoughts that may lead me into wrong-doing as the ideas may cost my health also. When I fall sick, I should take some time when I feel relaxed and think positively and see myself walking whole again and with no defects, since such thoughts comfort the mind and soul hence promoting a quick recovery.

How much does the text agree or clash with your view of the world, and what you consider right and wrong? Use several quotes as examples of how it agrees with and supports what you think about the world, about right and wrong, and about what you think it is to be human. Use quotes and examples to discuss how the text disagrees with what you think about the world and about right and wrong.

I agree with the text that the subconscious mind has power to increase one’s life by adding into it more power, more health, more joy and more wealth if they release the secret power of that mind. It is true that every human being has the subconscious mind hence it is not acquired but the means in which everyone utilizes his or her own creates the difference. However, for one to utilize it effectively, there is a need to learn and understand how to apply it in all the circumstances of life. I, however, disagree with the text where it says that the subconscious mind can provide a solution to every dilemma and the cause of every effect. If for example, one falls down from a knock down by a stone, what makes the stone to knock down the person may not be easy to discover.

Some principles may not be changed but when the subconscious mind cooperates with the nature, one is able to discover many other things and come up with numerous inventions. The subconscious mind works with the law of belief and this explains why one’s prayers are answered due to the faith backed by the subconscious mind.

How did you learn, and how much were your views and opinions challenged or changed by this text, if at all? Did the text communicate with you? Why or why not? Give examples of how your views might have changed or been strengthened (or perhaps, of why the text failed to convince you, the way it is). Please do not write “I agree with everything the author wrote,” since everybody disagrees about something, even if it is a tiny point. Use quotes to illustrate your points of challenge, or where you were persuaded, or where it left you cold.

This text has taught me a lot about the value of the subconscious mind. Personally, I thought that it happens by chance that some people become very rich while others remain poor. This text has challenged me that is depends on how one utilizes the wisdom from the subconscious mind which enables one to attract the right partners in life like business associates and the gather the financial freedom. Therefore, to be rich or poor, it relies on one’s belief and mindset

To sum up, what is your overall reaction to the text? Would you read something else like this, or by this author, in the future or not? Why or why not? To whom would you recommend this text?

The text is awesome and would enjoy reading it day by day or any other related materials by the same author as I found it so inspirational and worth to embrace. I would recommend this text to every person who wishes to grow their standards of living by changing their mindset.
